MATH 115 - Technical Mathematics

Applied geometry and trigonometry for students in technical programs. Congruence, similarity, polygons, circle geometry, trigonometry with right and oblique triangles (including laws of sines, cosines and cotangents), surface area, volume, 3D rectangular and 2D polar coordinate systems, and introduction to vectors. Emphasizes problem solving for technical applications.

Prerequisite(s): Minimum 2.0 in MATH 114 or (MATH 095 concurrently) or a Math Placement Score indicated below
Placement Scores: Reading Level 5 and (BSM2/CPT Algebra 77-120 or ACM2/QRAS 260-300 or ACM3/AAF 220-244 or A02/ACT Math 20-21 or S12/SAT Math 520-540 or PS12/PSAT Math 520-540 or HSGPA 3.0 w/in 10 years or GEDM/GED Math 165 w/in 10 years).
