MATH 095 - Support for MATH115

This course provides support for students enrolled in MATH 115 . Topics include: algebraic expressions, powers, roots, ratio and proportion, linear and quadratic equations, evaluating and solving formulas, graphing, perimeter, area, and volume calculations. Emphasis on problem-solving for technical applications.

Semesters Offered: Fall, Spring
Prerequisite(s): Minimum 2.0 in (MATH 105 or MATH 106) or a Math Placement Score indicated below
Placement Scores: Reading Level 5 and (BSM1/CPT Arithmetic 85-120 or BSM2/CPT Algebra 40-76 or ACM1/Accuplacer Arithmetic 250-300 or ACM2/QRAS 225-259 or [HS GPA 2.5-2.99 within 10 years]).
Corequisite(s): MATH 115  
Course Note:
  1. This co-support course, MATH 095, must be taken during the same semester as the college level course (MATH 115 ). Contact your instructor to discuss options if either course is dropped during the semester or if a passing grade is not achieved at the end of the semester.
  2. A graphing calculator from the TI-83/84 series is required for coursework.
  3. Class participation is strongly recommended; participation is a significant and important part of the course to enable success in MATH 115 .
