MUSC 194 - Music Theory II

Third semester course in tonal harmony covering diatonic seventh chords, non-chord tones, secondary functions, modulations and larger musical forms. Focus on advancing students’ skills in part-writing, analysis, score-reading and counterpoint. Concepts are applied through student composition in classical, jazz and/or popular styles.
