Continuation of CHEM 251 . Topics include conjugated dienes, aromatic compounds, ethers, epoxides, aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acids and their derivatives, amines, enolates, carbohydrates, and amino acids. In addition, applications of nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry, and infrared spectroscopy will be explored.
