RELG 232 - Introduction to Islam 3 Credit Hour(s) / 3 Billing Hour(s) General Education Category: MTA Humanities and Fine Arts
This course will introduce students to the historical and cultural contexts for understanding the teachings of The Prophet Muhammad, the beliefs and practices derived from the Qur’an and Sunnah (Hadith), and early caliphates or dynasties. The student will be introduced to three expressions of Islam: Sunni, Shi’a, and Sufism.
