EDUC 226 - Foundations of Literacy

This course covers principles and practices of effective literacy instruction for emergent, beginning, transitional, intermediate, and proficient readers. Topics include development of phonological awareness, word recognition, morphology, phonics, comprehension, fluency, speaking, and listening. Student-centered formative and summative assessment as well as intervention for struggling readers is addressed.
