WELD 108 - Welding for Non-Majors 4 Credit Hour(s) / 6 Billing Hour(s) This is a beginning theory and practice course which will introduce the safe operations and applications of torch cutting, plasma cutting, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding. Practice will consist of these methods of joining steel in the horizontal, flat, and vertical positions. Destructive testing will also be performed.
Semesters Offered: Fall, Spring Prerequisite(s): Department Approval is required Course Note: This course is for Mechatronics major students only. Students need to bring their own safety glasses, pliers, leather welding gloves and leather work boots to start welding on the first day of class.
