METS 140 - Rigging


3 Credit Hour(s) / 4.5 Billing Hour(s)
This course covers uses and strengths of ropes, chains, block and tackles, and the construction and erection of gin poles, with a study of rope knots used in rigging and cranes. Safe working strength of slings, hooks, sheaves, ropes and chains, and the use of personal safety equipment will be covered.

Prerequisite(s): Minimum 2.0 in (METS 102 or DCTM 102  or ELTE 102 or HVAC 102 or TECH 102  or WELD 102) or concurrently
Placement Scores: Reading Level 3 and Writing Level 2 and Math Skills Level 10 (College-Ready with Support)
